We want to connect with people by sharing a little of bit of our culture through food. Food is the ultimate connection between people. It is something we all share and a catalyst for social change. Our company’s mission is to make delicious vegan Egyptian street food and provide opportunities for at-risk populations.
What products/services does your business offer?
Koshari Mama’s main dish is an Egyptian Street Food called Koshari, a dish made up of rice, lentils, pasta, chickpeas and topped with crunchy fried onions and spicy tomato and garlic sauces. We also serve baked tomato and garlic eggplant and we have a line of fermented vegetables. As we grow, we will continue to add delicious vegan Egyptian street food to share with everyone.
Have you participated in the Egleston Market before?
This is our first time at the Egleston Market.
What are you most looking forward to while participating at the 2018 market?
We look forward to meeting and working with new people. Each market provides a unique setting which makes it exciting to experience for the first time.
What is your favorite or most unique product/service you will be offering to market-goers this year?
Our favorite product is our main dish Koshari, it’s delicious, hearty, and vegan!
What has been, or do you hope to be, the most rewarding part of participating in local farmers’ markets?
The most rewarding part of participating in local farmers’ markets is community. It’s a gathering place where people can meet up, bring children, have conversations, support local farmers and small businesses and just have fun!
